Tia Mowry is dating on her own time.
The Sister, Sister alum recently got candid about her quest to find love again after ending her 14-year marriage to Cory Hardrict last year.
"Fun Fact: I've never been on the dating scene my entire life," she wrote in an Aug. 2 Instagram post. "So when I tell you I'm nervous and terrified of doing this whole dating thing, I mean it. Even though I'm in my 40's, I feel so inexperienced!"
The 42-year-old acknowledged that "while it would be easy to just throw in the towel and avoid the potential for awkwardness and hurt, I know God's got me!"
She added, in a message to fans who may be in a similar situation, "If you're feeling apprehensive about new experiences, just know you got this, and we're in this together!"
In her post, Tia also poked fun at her inexperience by sharing a video of herself rehearsing in the mirror for what appeared to be a date. As she puts on makeup, she lip-syncs to an audio track saying, "So, what do you do for work? Do you like it? Do you like it?"
"How many siblings do you have? Oh, you have a lot?" she continued, before rolling her eyes. "This is f--king ridiculous."
The humorous post comes nine months after Tia announced her breakup from Cory, with whom she shares son Cree, 13, and daughter Cairo, 5. The former couple—who first met in 1996 when Cory, now 43, appeared on an episode of Sister, Sister—tied the knot on Apr. 20, 2008 after eight years of dating.
"I wanted to share that Cory and I have decided to go our separate ways," the actress wrote on Instagram Oct. 4. "These decisions are never easy, and not without sadness. We will maintain a friendship as we co-parent our beautiful children."
She added, "I am grateful for all the happy times we had together and want to thank my friends, family and fans for your love and support as we start this new chapter moving forward in our lives."
In her divorce filing obtained by E! News, Tia cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for separation and requested joint legal and physical joint custody of their kids. She also noted that there was a premarital agreement in place.
The divorce was finalized in June, with the Family Reunion star and the All American: Homecoming actor agreeing to date a romantic partner for at least six months before introducing them to their children, according to court documents obtained by People. The divorce settlement also stipulated that the significant other cannot not spend the night when kids are present during the first six months of the relationship.
Previously, Tia said that her kids played a large part in her decision to divorce Cory. "A part of my decision was also for them," she explained to HelloBeautiful in June. "For them seeing their mother walk in truth. I feel like it's a great lesson for them because it was not an easy decision. It was one of the hardest decisions that I had ever had to make in my entire life."
