Netflix is saying oui to more Emily in Paris.
The hit TV series starring Lily Collins has been renewed for season five, the streamer announced Sept. 16.
Amid the exciting news, Collins—who plays the titular marketing wiz Emily Cooper—shared where she hopes to see her character's budding romance with new love interest Marcello (played by Italian actor Eugenio Franceschini) go after their chance meeting in Rome during season four.
“Marcello is a whole other adventure that we want for Emily because we ultimately want Emily to be able to have a better work/life balance,” the actress told Netflix's Tudum. “We want to have Emily be able to smile without condition. We want to see her beyond her vacay mode. And he comes at that perfect time.”
Series creator Darren Star also promised fans will see Emily and Marcello's relationship blossom in future episodes.
“I feel like they have a real spark and a real connection and a real romantic connection," he told Tudum. "A lot of that’s going to continue to play out next season.”
And there will definitely be more sights in Italy when the show returns.
“Emily’s going to have a presence in Rome,” Star added. “It doesn’t mean she’s not going to be in Paris, but she’s going to have a presence in Rome.”
As for the renewal news, Star gushed, “We’re thrilled with the incredible response to this season of Emily in Paris and excited to return for a fifth to continue Emily’s adventures in Rome and Paris!”
Also returning for more European adventures are costars Ashley Park as Emily's BFF Mindy Chen, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Emily's boss Sylvie Grateau, Lucas Bravo as her ex-boyfriend Gabriel and Camille Razat as Gabriel's ex Camille.
